Bath Remodel on a Budget

From this….

… To this!

We bought this place in 2014 and was a HUD home (repossessed). Yes there were a lot of things on the to do list, but for the most part was a solid fixer-upper and was move-in ready. Yet, the bath was certainly one of the top priorities in the livable spaces. It wasn’t bad, but let’s just say… WTF?

We basically did this in two phases where in phase one, we left the shower as is, but put in new vinyl plank flooring, partial wall shiplap, put in a new vanity, lighting, a more discrete and seamless medicine cabinet and added more rustic yet functional shelving and towel hanging solutions.

Phase two and nearly two years later, we mustered the gumption and cash to not completely rid us of the tub (because kids) but to remove the very dated shower tile and aesthetics with something a little more modern while still mirroring the cozy farm-house style we procured in phase one.

It’s still small, but it gained a whole lot more character and aesthetic value along with elevating that sense of calm you should have no mater what it is you’re doing in there.
